Jewelry Care

14K Solid Gold

  • While 14k gold is made to last a lifetime, it does require gentle care and occasional polishing.
  • To maintain the shine of your jewelry, gently clean it with a soft-bristled brush or cloth using warm water and detergent-free soap, or a jewelry care kit.
  • Don’t use abrasive cleaners.
  • Ultrasonic cleaners are safe to use on 14k gold jewelry.

Sterling Silver

  • Proactive maintenance is the best way to prolong the lifespan of sterling silver.
  • Clean by wiping with a soft, damp cloth. To remove tarnish, buff gently with a silver polishing cloth, or use a Jewelry Care Kit.
  • Ultrasonic cleaners are safe to use on silver jewelry.
  • Please note: If you’re wearing pieces made of oxidized silver, they will need to be cleaned differently. Oxidized silver products have a special finish, so we recommend a dry clean—no water or silver cleaning polish—otherwise the finish may rub off entirely.

Titanium

  • Clean with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth, or use a Jewelry Care Kit.
  • Ultrasonic cleaners are safe to use on titanium jewelry.

Diamonds

  • To maintain the shine of your diamonds, buff them lightly with a soft-bristled brush using warm water and detergent-free soap. Or use a Jewelry Care Kit.
  • Don’t use abrasive cleaners.
  • Ultrasonic cleaners are safe to use on diamond jewelry.

Gemstones

  • Do not use steam cleaners or ultrasonic cleaners on colored gemstones as they can damage or permanently discolor these stones. Rubies and sapphires can be gently cleaned in warm water, using non-detergent soap and a soft-bristled brush.

Enamel

  • Clean with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or polishing cloths.
  • Do not use steam or ultrasonic cleaners.

Pearls

  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or polishing cloths.
  • Do not use steam or ultrasonic cleaners.

Ceramic

  • Clean by wiping with a soft, damp cloth. You can also use warm, soapy water and a soft cloth for pieces that need a deeper clean.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or polishing cloths.
  • Do not use steam or ultrasonic cleaners.

WATERPROOF JEWELRY

14K GOLD-FILLED & GOLD VERMEIL
Our 14k gold-filled jewelry is bonded with real 14k gold over brass. Our gold vermeil is plated with 18k gold over sterling silver. Both are great alternatives to solid gold, and can be worn by people with sensitive skin. The color will not tarnish and is water resistant, but recommended to keep away from perfumes and lotions.

CARE

  • Use a cleaning solution, warm water and a soft cloth to clean your gold-plated items. We don’t recommend using a microfiber or cotton cloth to clean your jewelry  as this may strip away the plating.
  • Keep away from perfume, cosmetics and body and hair sprays.

GOLD PLATING

Our gold-plated jewelry is made by electroplating 18k gold onto durable brass and sterling silver. All metal will eventually oxidize or fade with natural wear. Gold-plated jewelry requires extra care so we encourage you to follow these simple instructions to get the most wear out of your gold-plated pieces.

CARE

  • Remove your jewelry when exercising, washing your hands, showering, or swimming. Contact with liquid may cause oxidization or discoloration. In other words, when there’s liquid there should be no wear.
  • Cleaning your gold-plated jewelry regularly will increase the lifespan of your piece. We recommend using a professional, high-quality jewelry cleaning solution to clean your jewelry. Do not use harsh chemicals or cleaners that aren’t specifically made for gold-plated jewelry.
  • Use a cleaning solution, warm water and a soft cloth to clean your gold-plated items. We don’t recommend using a microfiber or cotton cloth to clean your gold-plated jewelry  as this may strip away the plating.
  • Keep away from perfume, cosmetics and body and hair sprays.
  • Store your jewelry in a secure pouch, box or air-tight container out of direct sunlight and away from heat.
